Manufacturing Progress and Locking Shipping Addresses!

Hello to All the Beautiful People of our Big Jollylook Community!

Thank you for making our project a reality!

Our progress:

During the past month, we have received all the necessary parts, packaging, and equipment.

We built the exhaust pipes for the laser cutting machines, and we are super excited to say that we have launched mass production!  

Here are the details that we are sure you will enjoy seeing as much as we do:

We have received and polished the plywood:

With all the difficulties and the problems with electricity due to the war, we are also super happy that our contractor in Kharkiv, Ukraine, was able to manufacture the bellows on time, and we have received them:

This is it! We’re finally getting ready to ship!

We will be locking shipping addresses soon. That means you have 1 week to update your shipping address in your BackerKit survey.

If you need to review your shipping address, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page.

If you haven’t answered your survey yet, you can still fill it out to get your rewards, but your shipment may be delayed.

• If you do not receive your BackerKit email, just go to this link,  enter your Kickstarter email address, and click on the "Get My Survey"  button. You will be sent a new email with a link to your account.
• If you use your Facebook login for your Kickstarter account, the  BackerKit survey will be sent to the email address you use for your  Facebook account.

We’re currently aiming to start shipping all the European rewards in mid-November and then North America and the rest of the world in early December. It's Backerkit Survey Time!

How do I get my invitation? You should receive an email from BackerKit this week with a link to your account that includes all your Backer information in it. Please be patient. (And don’t forget to check your spam folder.)

• If you do not receive your BackerKit email by October 9, just go to this link, enter your Kickstarter email address, and click on the "Get My Survey" button. You will be sent a new email with a link to your account.
• If you use your Facebook login for your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey will be sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account.
• If you have another email address that you would prefer to use,  please contact BackerKit support at [email protected], and they'll get you sorted out.

Do I Really need to go to BackerKit?

Yes! All Backers must go to their BackerKit account to let us know the color of the kit they want and whether they like to receive the kit or an assembled camera. You will also be able to purchase film or a DIY tripod, photo frames, magnets, and bracelets. Check out all the available items in the add-ons store after you fill out the survey.

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys on October 15th.

Hello to All the Beautiful People of our Big Jollylook Community!

Thank you all so much for the massive support we received.

Thank you for making our project a reality! 

Our progress:

For the past three weeks, we have been preparing everything for mass production, and we are super excited to share our progress with you.

Great news! The laser cutting machines were delivered on Friday night!

Initially, we ordered two machines, but the supplier was super kind and gave us a great deal, so we got 4. 

We are now setting them up. 

We have already done some tests, and we are thrilled with the quality we are getting.

Next week we will build the exhaust pipes for the laser cutting machines, and after that, we will be ready to cut the Jollylook Pinhole DIY kits at scale.

After a few more iterations, here is what the final box design and instructions manual book look like:

Next steps?

A few things need to happen before we can kick off production and fulfillment.

Here's a quick rundown:

• First, Kickstarter needs to transfer the funds so we have the money to make the orders, which will happen in the next 7 days.
• Second, we must find out what reward you have chosen: The brown stained version or the Natural plywood version (that can easily be colored with markers or paint).
• Third, we have to find out where we need to ship the pledges. We will be sending our BackerKit survey out to collect this information in about two weeks, we will post another update before we send it. Our ability to make your order depends on receiving this information. 

You do not need to make a login and password to fill out your survey,  just fill it out, and you’re all good to go! If you want to go back to review your info, just click on the link in your email again or input your email into our project page for another survey link.

If you prefer, you can just message us your info, but we STRONGLY SUGGEST using BackerKit as you will have the opportunity to add ADDITIONAL PRODUCTS to your current pledge and help us make the shipping process SEAMLESS!  This will help out our project tremendously, and help us get your rewards out to you quicker!

• If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey link is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please contact us via direct messages.

The Manufacturing Progress!

Hello to All the Beautiful People of our Big Jollylook Community!

Thank you all so much for the massive support we received.

During the past two weeks, we have been preparing everything for mass production. And we are super excited to share our progress with you.

We have already prepared the materials for the first batch, and the laser cutting machine that we have is cutting the parts every day:

Great news! Two more laser cutting machines are already ordered and should be delivered to us within the next 15 days. So very soon, we will be able to scale the manufacturing.

Then cut parts are placed in boxes for further quality control before we pack them into paper bags and the final boxes. To make the assembly process more straightforward, we divided the kit into seven paper bags with parts. Here is a glance at what you will get in the package: 

We have also been preparing the bellows. This process is quite time-consuming, as they are genuinely handcrafted.

First, the bellows are assembled and glued into cones.

We have also been working on the box design, and this was the first draft we created:

We continue working on the animated video instructions for assembly, but each kit will also include paper assembly instructions. Here is a glance at the prototype:

All of the above means we are on track and should be able to start shipping the rewards in October as promised.
